Extra Curricular Activities - Middle School
We have been running the very successful Broader Curriculum afternoon for five years. Once a week, middle school pupils take part in activities they have chosen which are designed to be very practical and without a large written component. Often the activity blocks will involve trips to and visits from outside agencies. Pupils are involved in choosing the activities and they also help to decide on the learning targets to be achieved at the end of each activity block. Assessment takes the form of a presentation or digital record.
The Broader Curriculum has been an excellent addition to the middle school timetable and has afforded pupils the opportunity to develop transferable skills through a whole range of activities. Activities have included:
