From Cedars School

Jump to: navigation, search

Every year in Cedars School we run a House Championship. There are 3 houses - Rankin, Ardgowan and Lyle and each pupil from P1 - S5 is placed into one of these houses. Family groups are kept together in the same house.

Throughout the year bricks are awarded to celebrate individual pupil's successes and achievements in a wide range of areas including academic studies, extra curricular activities, behaviour, effort, contributions to the school, etc. Achievements are grouped under the four pillars of the Curriculum for Excellence:

  • Responsible Citizens
  • Confident Individuals
  • Successful Learners
  • Effective Contributors

At the end of the year the house with the most bricks wins both the trophy and a trip to either Xscape or the Big Adventure for all pupils and teachers in that house.

For session 2009 - 2010, the championship has gone digital. Bricks will be awarded electronically and the houses displayed on the information screen in the school entrance hall. We will have separate house assemblies on a Tuesday morning for P1 - S5 when bricks will be read out. Good Luck to all!
