We had a fantastic sports day today at Largs Sports centre. There were lots of different sporting activities and challenges, and everyone got a chance to have a go at everything. Congratulations to Ardgowan, who were the winning house today! P7 are continuing to create some exciting tissue paper entries for the Ann Thomas art prize competition: S1 and S2 are sitting their last exam for Social Studies today. If their History resukts are as good as their Geography and Modern Studies results they have nothing to worry about! P7 have passed their end of year exam with flying colours. Well done to you all- the hard work has paid off. P7 have really improved in tennis this term. All our work on hand eye coordination, ground strokes and foot work has paid off! We had some fierce rally's and some fun team games today. S1/2 have been looking at the 'Seven Ages of Man' speech, from Shakespeare's play As You Like It, and today, we had fun acting out the various parts that people play in their lives. Can you see what the seven ages are?! First of all, the mewling and puking infant. Then the whining schoolboy creeping like a snail to school. Then the sighing lover, with his ballads to his mistress' eyebrow. Then the fearsome soldier, complete with gun sound effects. Next, the round bellied justice. Followed by the lean and slippered pantaloon. And finally the very old man in his second childhood. Well done to all who took part and who were such good sports! |
