We have recently started using a new book with S1/2 entitled "Now for Then: How to Face the Digital Future Without Fear" by Ben Hammersley. It's an excellent book, comprised of 64 short chapters about such topics as 3D Printing, Cyber Warfare, Technomadism and the Attention Economy.
For our S1/2 class, we are focusing on the "Technological Developments in Society" strand of Curriculum for Excellence, which asks us to look at how technological developments and scientific inventions impact our society for better - and for worse.
We strongly recommend this book to parents too. If you're finding the modern world a little confusing and intimidating, this book can go a long way to helping you make sense of it all.
It's available in paperback form and on the Kindle from Amazon and on iBooks from Apple.
