Transitus have been looking at Alfred Noyes' poem 'The Highwayman'. Today, they split into two groups and performed dramatic readings of it, which were very entertaining - and will hopefully make the poem memorable for them!
As part of their Trade and Empire topic S2 are encountering lots of new words. Today they're playing different games to reinforce their understanding of the meaning and usage of these words. S2 pupils have started work on a mini expressive topic - they have each chosen their own theme and are drawing objects related to it.
Primary 7 are going to vote each Monday for the person who has been the kindest and happiest in the previous week. Congratulations to Adam who has won the award this week! He will take 'Mr Happy' home for the week and take a photo of Mr Happy doing something funny. Transitus and S1 girls enjoyed a great afternoon baking in BC with Mrs Creighton and Mrs Airth. They made Snowballs - Yum yum!
S2 visited CrossfitCabre for their first exercise session. The children learned how to do two of the main Crossfit exercise: burpees and squats. They played a number of fun team games and worked very well. Transitus started a new topic this year called Culture. This week they were exploring what culture means and what are some of the definable aspects of it. They then discussed how Scottish culture was expressed in each of these aspects.
We are looking forward to an exciting course with lots of hands on experiences and out of school learning. |
