Our last day

Our final day as P1s has arrived! We have had a brilliant year and grown up so much! Here is a photo of us today and also one taken at our infant induction day a year ago- we look much bigger!

Wishing everyone a happy summer holiday- thank you for all the lovely presents! It's been a pleasure to teach you all!

Emotional Health

Our final session was emotional health with Dr Marks. We talked about feelings, emotions and how to identify what people are feeling. We had a quiz and then played a game to act out different feelings.

Mrs Mckenzie's Smoothie Bar

Session 3 before lunch was smoothie and fruit kebab making. We used loads of different fruits and tired some new things.

We also did a worksheet to make a healthy dinner.

Financial Health

Session 2 was with Mrs Airth about financial health. We learned all about the bank and how to save our money. We did various money games and matching games with coins.

Health Day- first aid

We started today with a session with Miss Bell about first aid and phoning 999. We watched a DVD, answered lots of questions, acted out an emergency scenario and completed a workbook with activities.

Funworld - Monday 22nd
Whole School: Trip Uniform

All primary children are going for a 2 hour play session at Funworld on Monday morning. Drinks will be provided but you may bring money to buy a snack (£2 max).

Heath Fayre - Tuesday 23rd 
Whole School: Trip Uniform

On Tuesday 23rd June we are having a full day Health Fayre in school. This will involve the whole school taking part in different sessions on the theme of health and healthy eating. As part of this we will be running a baguette and salad bar for lunch for the full week.

For £1.50 you can buy a filled baguette and salad. Various fruits and bottled water will also be available but you are free to have a packed lunch as usual. 

Prize Giving - Wednesday 24th 
Whole School: Formal Uniform

Prize giving starts at 1pm in Struthers Memorial Church. Formal uniform should be worn and children collected at the end. If possible don’t bring a school bag this day. If you are unable to attend please collect your child from the church at approximately 2.30pm.

Winning House Day Out - Thursday 25th
All of Primary - Trip Uniform
All of Secondary - Own Clothes

If your child is in the wining house (announced at prize giving) they will get a day out at The Big Adventure (P1-5) or Xscape (Transitus - S5) which will include lunch. P1-5 should wear trip uniform and Transitus - S5  can wear their own clothes. Those going to the Big Adventure do not need money but those going to Xscape can bring some spending money for the day (no more than £15 per person).

Those not in the winning house will be in school for the day and can bring in toys/games. 

Last Day - Friday 26th 
Whole School: Own Clothes

School closes at 12:00 noon.

Finished fun fit

Today we got certificates from Shirley for completing our year of fun-fit lessons and challenges.

Nests

Mrs Offord brought in 2 nests which had been abandoned by the mother bird. We got to see how the nest was made and the little eggs inside.
