The children have sent you 2 emails today. They have sent you two versions of their Katie Mirag digital books. They have sent you an ePub copy as well as a PDF copy.

Please let me know if you haven't received an email or if you can't read the file.

They have worked really well on these stories and are very pleased with their work.

In French today we were learning to say the following phrases.

Bonjour, ca va?

Ca va bien, merci.

Comme ci comme ca.

Ca ne va pas bien.

The children practised these phrases then worked on two worksheets. After this they they worked in pairs to make an annimation using Puppet Pals on their iPads. The children had to record their French conversation and add this to the animation.

The class finished their Katie Morag digital stories today. Some even managed to record themselves reading their stories on their books! In the afternoon we invited Primary 1 into our class so that the children could read their stories to them.

Tomorrow the children will try to email their stories to mums and dads. The stories may not open unless you have an apple device.

Primary 3 Maths Homework

2/25/2015

I have made up a new maths homework booklet for Primary 3. Tonight they have 14 questions to answers. They can choose which method to use to answer these. We have been focussing on using the Empty Number Line methods as well as partitioning the tens and units and adding these together.

If there is any difficulty with this please drop me a wee note in the homework packets. It is quite a hard task tonight.

The children are making their own Katie Morag books using a fantastic app called Book Creator. The children found lots of pictures of Katie Morag and other characters from the stories using Safari. They then looked at the map of the Isle of Struary and picked an interesting place where the story could take place. They again used Safari to find pictures of similar places that they could use. After this they planned their stories and started to write them on the iPads.

We were learning how to add texture to line drawings by making long, short, hard or soft marks with our pencils. We used teddies like Katie Morag's Tiresome Ted to show different examples of texture of fur.
