The British Heart Foundation handed in some letters today about furniture collections so some of you will have received one in your child's plastic packet. I have put a copy of the letter below

Solar Eclipse Explained

Sadly it was too cloudy to see much this morning but Mrs Speirs spoke to the children about the Solar Eclipse in assembly. She explained what was happening and also spoke about safety.

Back in class we used some pinhole projectors and torches to explain and demonstrate the solar eclipse.

Woodwind Tuition

Dear Parents,

We are looking at our music provision for the session 2015-16. There is a possibility of a new tutor coming into the school to teach flute, clarinet and saxophone, but we would need to be able to guarantee the tutor a reasonable amount of work. I am therefore writing to you to ask if anyone would be interested in their child having a lesson in any of these instruments. The cost would be £15 per lesson and would be available for children in P4-S2.

If you are interested, please email the school secretary, Mrs Scorthorne (
dscorthorne@cedars.inverclyde.sch.uk), as soon as possible and before the Easter holidays. We will put out the new music brochure with an invitation to join after the Easter holidays

Best wishes,

Alison Speirs
