We had a great morning at Cornalees today. The children were all given a sheets with 12 wooden carvings on it and we were asked to try and find them as we walked round the trail We were told that one was missing but we still failed to find them all. We managed to find 8/12. A task for another day!
The weather brighten for us and the children had a great time. Please check school bags for report cards and parent interview times. WE had a great day at the RSPB Centre in Lochwinnoch today. The children enjoyed bird watching, pond dipping and looking for mini-beasts Wellies, boots, hats, scarves, and waterproofs tomorrow. Summer term! This is the time of year that labels have faded away or fallen off school uniforms. Would it be possible to check your child's uniform and put their names on them.
Thank you The class had great fun making posters up about Shackleton. The posters had to enclude a title, a photo, a picture, a drawing and some text. The children deligated tasks between them in their groups. The used their iPads to find pictures and information about Shackleton. A very busy day! This morning P3 were introduced to multiplication. The children were shown a calculation on the board and they had to match it to the materials laid out. From this they understood that 3x4 means 3 sets of 4. In groups they were given calculation and they had to represent these using numicon. To further develop their understanding they had to use as many materials as possible to represent a calculation. They children wee creative and used Numicon, coins, cubes, counter, rods and even Jenja blocks. The P3s will be working on this all week. |
