In science today we were creating a bar graph to display the results of our experiment last week. It took a lot of concentration and everyone tried incredible hard. We had to label our axis, give our graph a title, use a ruler, make measurements, divide numbers, work out a suitable scale, transfer the table data onto the graph and then write exact numbers. What a busy and productive afternoon.
Well done to Samuel and Owen who are both pupils of the term in P4/5. They have worked really hard. Keep up the super week boys! Trip uniform should only be worn on Monday as we will be going to Fun World. Formal uniform should be worn the rest of the week. There will be no reading homework next week but spelling will be issued and also a French vocabulary sheet. Just a little reminder about the Easter Service next Thursday at 1pm in the Church. The children will be singing at it and will be ready to go home when it is finished about 2pm. You are all invited to come and join us. P4 were thinking about verbs today and created tables with verb families. P5 were working with confusing words, deciding which one to use when! Where, were, we're - two, to,too - there and their. A very hard working morning. In art today we were working with clay to create 3D egg cups. We had to manipulate the clay quickly so that it didn't dry out. We also used clay tools to give some design to the cups. The concentration on faces was super. We had a super afternoon working on science experiments. We were carrying out investigations to see how many sheets of different types of paper were needed to hold up infront of a torch to make it opaque. We each estimated what we thought before carrying out the task and then saw who was closest. We recorded our results in a table and next week we will be transferring the data into a graph. We also looked at types of shadows that were made depending on the material used. We have been learning about materials being transparent, translucent and opaque. Today was our last swimming session for this year. It has been super to see everyone progress over the weeks and we look forward to next year when we will be returning for our next block. I have given your child back the £1 they brought in for the lockers. |
