Well done to Niamh and David who are both pupils of the week in P4/5. They have been working exceptionally hard. Keep up the good work!
We had a super afternoon yesterday at the theatre. It was great to see the performance having already read the novel. We have creating our own poems as we are going to enter a poetry competition and have to create a 'space' poem. We researched the planets together so that we had accurate information to include. This week we will be doing an acrostic poem so that everyone can decide which one to use. We have started using the Book Creator app in our Paris topic. We looked at all the features in the app and then did some research to find a suitable map to insert. Everyone enjoyed using air play to show their work. We used apple maps to navigate round Paris. We found the Eiffel Tower and other key locations. We were writing in pen today and everyone really enjoyed transferring their pencil skills to pen skills! We are delighted to be going to The Beacon on Tuesday 28th April to see this production. P2-P7 will be taken down for the performance which begins at 1pm and finishes at 3pm. We are asking all parents to collect their children from The Beacon at 3pm. Children will have their belongings with them so will not need to return to school. For those who normally travel on the school bus, Mr Wyllie will be collecting them from The Beacon. There will be the opportunity to buy an ice cream at the interval and this will be at a cost of £2. If you would like your child to have an ice cream please feel free to send the money in anytime. This performance fits in so well with our class as we read Danny Champion of the World as a class novel. We were learning all the different functions in the Book Creator app this afternoon and we began our topic on Paris. We will be researching some of the key places in Paris and will also be including some French speaking! We were also using AirPlay to show the class what we had done. |
