Mrs Speirs spoke to us today in assembly about the solar eclipse. She explained what it is and gave a presentation on it. She also used some of the children to demonstrate what the sun, moon and stars do.

They look so interested listening to your lecture about solar solar eclipse! I remember when I was a kid, my teacher first told us about what solar eclipse is all about. Apparently, it occurs when the moon overshadows the Sun's disk. It also happens rarely which is why it is so exciting when it happens. My father and I were fortunate enough to see the eclipse this year. It was a different kind of eclipse because it happened after 33 years since the last one. It's good to know that at a young age, children are very interested to know about science because I feel like more and more people are becoming too focused on improving technology that they forget about science.
