House System

Every year in Cedars School we run a House Championship. There are 3 houses - Rankin, Ardgowan and Lyle and each pupil from P1 - S6 is placed into one of these houses. Family groups are kept together in the same house.

Throughout the year bricks are awarded to celebrate individual pupil's successes and achievements in a wide range of areas including academic studies, extra curricular activities, behaviour, effort, contributions to the school, etc. Achievements may also be awarded under the four pillars of the Curriculum for Excellence:

  • Responsible Citizens
  • Confident Individuals
  • Successful Learners
  • Effective Contributors

At the end of the year the house with the most bricks wins both the trophy and a trip to either Xscape or the Big Adventure for all pupils and teachers in that house.
