Today we were counting beyond 20 in groups of 10. We counted pasta into bags of 10 and recorded how many bags of 10 we had filled. What a lot of bags we managed to fill and what big numbers we were able to record!
Today we were learning cvc words with e in the middle such as pet and wet. We had to match the pictures to the words. Today we played a game to round up all the numbers that has been spread over the floor. Everyone got a specific number to collect and we played a game to see how quickly we could get them back. We then lined up in the correct order of our numbers Today p1 were learning their new letter "i". We used a new app called ABC Pocket Phonics to practice all the letters we have learned so far. We really liked the app! Our new reading book for today and tomorrow is called Six in a bed and we've also got a word tin for the first time tonight! On Tuesday this week p1 and 2 are going on a trip to Cappielow Park (Greenock Morton's stadium) as part of our topic. We will be looking round the stadium and visiting their new boot and kit recycling room. Trip uniform should be worn on Tuesday for this week only. Today we were learning all about 2's. We used the whiteboard, iPads and our workbooks to write as many as we could. We found it quite tricky but are getting there! P1 have been using Sharpie pens on photo paper to make these amazing stained glass window pictures. It took us quite a long time to get all the shapes coloured in but we are delighted with the results! This afternoon for topic we went to the battery park to complete a roadside survey sheet looking at a busy road. We spotted cars, lorries, dogs, people, litter, birds and even a tractor! On the way back to school in the bus we saw something quite amazing- 2 policemen on police horses! We didn't expect to see that! A fun afternoon! |
