P5/6 thoroughly enjoyed their visit from the SSPCA this afternoon. We heard all about ways we can protect animals in Scotland by not dropping litter. We learnt about taking care of pets, and heard that people who cannot manage their pets can take them to the SSPCA. We learnt about free range chicken and other farm animals.
We continued looking at forces today and discussed water resistance. We looked at how effectively different shapes move through water. We carried out an investigation and related our finding to everyday examples. We talked about the shape of boats and the shapes we make when we are swimming.
A special thank you to Mr Airth who officially opened the school bank this morning. The Primary 6s had a wonderful time.
The school bank opens tomorrow (Tuesday). I looking forward to seeing how well the P6s run the bank.
We had an excellent trip to the Glasgow Science Centre today. We took part in a workshop called Fantastic Forces and learned about Newton's 3 laws of motion. We also spent some time on the 3 floors of the science mall and visited the shop.
The class were split into two groups and asked to compete against each other on a number of challenges. A great effort by all. Well done to the NON-FITTERS who won.
Trip on our first day back after the holidays.
Primary 5/6 will be going to the Glasgow Science Centre on Monday 26th October. Please wear trio uniform and bring a packed lunch. Pupils may bring no more than £5 to spend at the shop.
