S2/3 have made a great start to their drama course. They have been looking at acting skills and performing short monologues.
Ruaraidh and Cameron are studying the effects of industrialisation on Britain. Today, they have learnt about inventors such as Wedgewood, Darby and Arkwright.
Higher historians are well in to the first section of work now. Today they have been analysing how democratic Britain was after the 1832 and 1867 Reform Acts. Lots of new information, dates and people, but the class are learning well and demonstrating understanding!

S4 have all passed their first end of week test! Now they are writing speeches in favour of the abolition of the slave trade which they will give to the rest of the class on Monday.
Five pupils are taking Higher history this year. Today we have sorted folders, course outline, looked at assessment, established the routine for handing in work and recording progress, and started looking at our first topic: democracy in Britain since 1832.

At the start of the afternoon, Mrs Speirs congratulated trophy winners and outlined what pupils need to do to win them. We are motivated for a hard working year. We also started the house completion for 2014-15 with bricks for all pupils who sat and passed exams. Please note that all pupils need to purchase a House badge from the School Office and wear it on their blazer.
