Intermediate 1 have been learning about reaction times. Here is one of them trying out his reaction times using a timer that will recreate situations when driving a car - wet or dry road, speed of travel etc.
S3 historians are working hard. They are developing their understanding of modern day Britain by examining the impact of the Industrial Age on the growth of democracy. S5/6 artists have been working hard this week on their artwork: Here are some completed drawings: Brett in S3 has also made good progress on his dragon themed helmet for his design project: S3 historians were given statements that provoke discussion and debate. They had to choose a way of presenting a keynote on this- and did really well! Aimee presented on 'history teaches us that man's desire for 'more' is his greatest asset- and his greatest flaw.' Lyle presented on 'it is possible to study the history of any civilisation through the study of the stomach contents of its corpses. ' !! Johnny presented on 'democracy and dictatorships both fail. Dictatorship is the lesser of two evils.' Brett spoke on 'war is inevitable and necessary.' A big well done to the higher History class who have grappled with some complicated themes this term and are now well on the way to passing their first unit. The Thinkers!
As part of our Anti Bullying Week we had a Friendship Day today. At interval, secondary pupils took part in ice breaker games and had the chance to chat to pupils in other classes and groups. We had fun and even got the chance to buy one another cakes! A successful day!
